Description: The Model 340 and its variants was, and is, one of the rifles produced by Savage, primarily as a low-cost shooter for ordinary folks. The rifle is a varmint rifle, and it was intended for casual hunting of all small game including varmnts up to coyote and wolf size. They made a very nice all-around rifle for protection of livestock as well.
