Unusuall find; Collector or Hunt. Were it not for the scope mounts we would have guessed that this gun lever left the house since it was purchased almost 70 years ago. The handsome correct stocks do not have a mark on them. The metal while not bruised or scratched or other seems to have some light frosting or imperfections in the blue throughout but this NOT pitted. Bore is perfect . There is still some decent case color on the part of the lever that is normally inside the rifle (i.e not exposed to sunlight) 
1955 was the lst year the "Modern" featherweighs (F) were produced originally only in 250 Savage and 300...later in subsequent years many other cals were introduced. We love 99's and espcially F's, M's and earlier 250-3000 take downs (see our other listings) 
F's are extreamly scarce in 250-3000 ideal for collectors or as a true classic to hunt with. Please ask question if any about the imperfections in the blue (very light frosting) or if you require add pics if serious about buying this really good looking and unique lst yr production rifle 
It does NOT have the often found split behind the upper tang. 
The wood is 100 % original finish with zero touch up or repairs including the correct Savage Steel butt plate...with only 4 or 5 minor handling or safe marks.
Has brass cartridge rotator, brass cartridge counter, lever safety and brass cocking indicator
