Savage 99F (Featherweight) 1957 3d yr production unmodified beauty !!!!

Description:
First ....we love these guns...we are serious 99 fans but the F's of this vintage are amoung our top 3 favorites.
Chambered in 300 Savage describe by one author as the perfect mid range deer cartridge. balistically nearly identical to the 308 with chamber pressures considerably lower (depending on the loads 50 to 150 fps under most 308 loadings) there isn't an animal on the planet that can tell the difference between these two cals.
Readily avail and modestly priced ammo (Hornaday list them for $ 38.00 box) avail in 150 and 180....ideal for deer, moose and bear.
This is a terrific example made in 1957 and closing in on 70 yrs old with only some light compression marks to show for its time in the woods. A couple of small bruises on the outside of the barrel, with just enough carry and edge wear on the receiver with min very light frosting....we are rating this at little under 90 for its age.
As a 1957 gun ...3 yrs before the change to the tang safety ...the safety is on the lever and it has  all of the features which made these terrific guns so sought after and found in deer camps in much of the Country since the late 1900's....Brass rotary magazine, cartridge counter and cocking indicator. The portion of the lever protected from the sun and enviorment still have nice case colors....Also...many 99's cracked behind the tang...this on never has....no repairs, no touch up...still very sharp factory hand checkering....and factory drilled and tapped ready for you're scope (we have many excellent used period corredt scopes availl...inquire we can get you set up)
