Savage 99 G Deluxe 250-3000 Totally Original Take Down Beauty Approx 1928

Description:
Truely a magnificent enample of a 99G Deluxe described by Murray in his book "The 99" as "probably one of the most attractive 99 rifles".
This one wih the possible exception of sling swivels is exactly as it left Chicopee Falls Mass in the late 1920's and is in exceptional conditon.
It was preceded by the 1899 250-3000 model (the serial # on this one 184XXX is more in keeping with the ser. range of the earlier 1899 250-3000 model however the 24" barrel was only avail on the G...but this one (perhaps parts clean up) has the distinctive cross checkerd trigger while the later G had the line grooved trigger...it lacks the perch belly stock of the earlier model and with its 24" take down barrel is more consisten with the G...Making this gun esp unique as well as being in exceptional conditon. The parts of the lever not exposed to the elemnts retain most of the original case colors now almost 100 yrs after it was made and blue and all wood are in the 90% or better original condtion rating.
One filler screw upper rear tang missing....this is where they Lyman tang sight would be mounted in factory holes and could have been ordered with the Lyman or added 
Note for folks not too farmiliar with these...they were NOT factory drilled and tapped however if you are lucky enough to find a Stith Mount ( i have one on my own 1899 250-3000) it will allow you to mount and use a scope without modifying or devaluing the rifle...
Don't miss this one...it is probablby the nicest of its kind we have ever had for sale here.
