1986 Vintage Pre-Ban Ruger Mini-14 GB Model in 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington

Description:
This is a very nice, original Ruger Mini-14 GB Model chambered for the .223 Remington cartridge. Designed by L. James Sullivan and William B. Ruger, the Mini-14 was first introduced in 1973 by Sturm, Ruger & Company. Named the "Mini 14" because it resembles a smaller version of the U.S. Military's M14 rifle and is mechanically similar. Using an identical self-cleaning, fixed-piston gas system first seen on the US M1 Garand rifle, albeit scaled down. The GB Model or government barrel model features either a pistol grip with side folding stock or a standard semi-pistol grip rifle stock and comes with either a 20 or 30-round magazine, bayonet lug and threaded barrel equiped with a factory flash suppressor. This particular pre-ban example was manufactured in 1986 and sports a factory hardwood semi-pistol grip stock, a factory 20 round magazine, and a factory-installed bayonet lug and threaded barrel with flash suppressor. The original factory hardwood stock is in good condition overall with only some minor dents and dings and is free from any cracks, chips, or repairs.  A set of aftermarket sling swivel studs have been added to the stock, otherwise all of the remaining stock hardware is still intact and in good condition. The receiver and barrel are factory blued and the rifle is equiped with a gloss black synthetic ventilated handguard. The bore is bright and clean and has excellent rifling throughout the barrel.  There are no visible imperfections or erosion in the bore whatsoever.  The bolt shows some light cosmetic finish wear from being fired, but is in perfect mechanical condition.  Overall this is a very handsome pre-ban example of the hard-to-find Ruger GB Model Mini 14 rifle, and it would make a great investment piece for your collection as well as a great shooter / self defense gun for use at home, on the range, or at the farm.
