The .300 AAC Blackout was designed to give the AR platform extra in terms of power and penetration on intermediate ranges with reduce recoil while holding the 30 round mag. The difference between AR 15 Kits in 300 Blackout and 5.56 is essentially just the barrel. Standard 5.56 magazines will work with the 300 Blackout. 300 Blackout ammo is great for hunting deer, hog, coyotes and other small, thin-skinned animals. Both cartridges are perfect for target shooting, hunting, home defense, and plinking. 5.56x45MM NATO
