Ruger M77 Guide Gun Model 47125 20-inch Stainless Steel .375 Ruger
Description: The Ruger Guide Gun was designed to be durable, easy to use, and accurate in the most strenuous situations. Like all Model 77 Mark II and Hawkeye rifles, the Guide Gun utilizes a non-rotating, Mauser-type controlled round feed extractor to ensure positive case extraction under the worst conditions. The bolt is made as a single piece for increased durability. The engraved floor plate is hinged for easy unloading without having to chamber each round. The latch is flush with the trigger guard to avoid accidental cartridge dumps. Chambered for the powerful .375 Ruger, a cartridge that can meet the famous .375 H&H on even terms and still outperform it, the Guide Gun can be used to hunt dangerous game animals all over the world, whether it be in the thick Alaskan bush, or the plains of Africa. The cold hammer-forged stainless-steel barrel uses ultra-precise rifling to ensure proper placement of rounds on the target. The barrel is threaded and fitted with Ruger’s Muzzle Brake System. This consists of a radial-port muzzle brake designed to reduce felt recoil by a significant margin. As guide guns are generally used at close ranges, they are by necessity fitted with good old-fashioned iron sights. The Ruger Guide Gun is fitted with the classic “Express Style” sighting system, which consists of a windage-adjustable V-notch rear sight and a large white bead front sight. These allow for instant target acquisition when a The Guide Gun is fitted with Ruger’s LC6 trigger, which has a smooth, crisp pull right out of the box. A three-position safety allows the shooter to lock the bolt or load/unload the rifle with the safety engaged. The rifle also sports a beautiful Mountain Green laminate stock with wrap-around checkering on the pistol grip and forearm. Laminate wood is excellent for use in both hot and cold environments, as the material will handle those two conditions better than a regular wooden stock, which can warp or dimensionally change in a way that puts pressure on the barrel, affecting accuracy. A soft butt pad reduces felt recoil and a ½” spacer allow the shooter to configure the rifle to accommodate different levels of outerwear. If you are looking for a reliable, high-power rifle for use in the woods, mountains, or in thick brush, the Ruger Guide Gun is an excellent choice. This example is used. It has some wear to the barrel’s matte finish, and powder residue is present in the ports of the muzzle brake. There is little if any rust present. Stock wear is minimal with one scratch on the right-hand side of the butt, and a small ding on the bottom of the pistol grip. The bore is in superb shape. There is no box and only one of the three ½” spacers are present. The rifle does come with a nice leather sling. SOLD Manufacturer: Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc.
