Rossi R92RH Ranch Hand in .357 Mag / .38 Spl.
** Mare's Leg Lever Action Pistol ** SOLD
Description: This is a very nice, lightly-used Rossi/Taurus Ranch Hand, otherwise known as a "Mare's Leg". Introduced in 2010 and discontinued by 2016, the Rossi Ranch Hand has developed quite a following and is a sought-after gun on today's collector/shooter's market. Chambered in .357 Magnum / .38 Special, this handy little lever-action repeating pistol is 24" inches long overall, weighs in at 4 pounds unloaded, and has a 12" inch barrel. It features a matte-blue factory finish, a large-loop lever, and a natural Brazilian pine stock set for an rustic "Old West" look and feel. The tubular magazine holds 6 rounds with plus+1 in the chamber for 7 rounds total on-board. It has a buckhorn style rear sight and a brass bead front blade, and features a saddle-ring on the left side of the receiver and a steel buttplate on the cut-down buttstock. There is a bolt-mounted safety lever as well, located just ahead of the hammer at the rear of the bolt. As mentioned before, this particular example has been lightly used but is in very good condition overall. The factory blue finish shows some minor handling marks and very light scratches but there are no bad spots or eyesores. The bore is mirror-bright with perfect, sharp rifling. The Brazilian Pine stock set is in good condition overall but has a small little crack at the upper edge on the left side of the butt. There is a close-up picture provided of this defect, likely just a result of the wood drying out as there is no evidence of damage or it having been dropped. The action on this Ranch Hand is smooth and precise, and the lever locks up into battery perfectly. All of the controls are in perfect working order, including the safety. Of note is that the rear buckhorn sight has been modified by the slot being cut deeper into the blade, probably to get it to shoot at point of aim with hot .357 Magnum loads. This Rossi Ranch Hand would be the perfect choice for someone wanting a Mare's Leg that they can actually go out and shoot without feeling bad. It would also be an excellent choice for backpacking or 4-wheeling as well.
