Quality, ORNATE European WARNANT Flobert Carabine 9mm Smoothbore Rook Rifle Said to Have Been Owned by European Royalty
Description: Quality, ORNATE European WARNANT Flobert Carabine 9mm Smoothbore Rook Rifle Said to Have Been Owned by European Royalty Here we present a Warnant Action Flobert 9mm Smoothbore Carabine, made circa the late-19th or early-20th Century. These actions are typically seen in very plain grades and rather abused as they were often used in saloons and shooting galleries for entertainment. This one is a very well-made specimen. It was likely meant to be used as a “rook rifle” a light and handy long gun that one could take on a walk through the country and shoot game birds and even rabbits and the like. This would have been perfect for the task. It chambers a 9mm Flobert cartridge, is equipped with an ejector, and is single shot. It features a round barrel with a flat top with traditional rifle sights. This one is engraved throughout and has a gold-plated escutcheon over the wrist with a crown “h”. This piece is said to have belonged to European royalty. The overall condition is very fine. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright. Blue finish with elegant engravings. Nickel accents on the butt plate, trigger guard, and frame tang. Carved stock. This is a gorgeous example, and certainly a cut way above the usual Warnant-Flobert guns. Ammunition is still available for these and this promises to offer lots of small game hunting opportunities for the youth and adult alike! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 23-1/4 inches. Caliber: 9mm Flobert Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1550 #20506 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
