German FLZ KLEINKALIBERBUCHSE Falling Block Target Rifle .22LR 28" Octagon Fully Engraved From the 1920's Nice!
Description:
This is a German made FLZ target rifle in .22 Lr caliber with 28" Octagon barrel. Excellent Mirror bright bore and tight and smooth action. Crisp and light trigger pull. Made in Germany before WWII, by Friedrich Langenhan of Zella Mehlis Germany. He is know as a "Premier" gunmaker of that area of Germany. His "FLZ" trade mark appears on the falling block. Crown B and Crown U proofs date it to the 1920's or early 1930's. It is all matching numbers. The original rear Zwiefach-Stiegdiopter tang sight is still on the gun and has matching numbers to the gun. The sight has lovely original fire blue accents. Scope mounting is easy and no drilling required because American tip-off scope mounting bases and rings work just fine on the factory dovetail rear sight mounting grooves. It has the original removable insert target type front sight as well. The walnut checkered stock is solid, no cracks or splits. Butt plate is steel with case colors. Forend is almost entirely covered with fine line checkering. The original barrel blue is about all still there. The case colors on the original hand engraved receiver are still showing. The engraving is deep and still sharp. This will make up into a nice Schuetzen style rifle if desired or use it as is for a great vintage squirrel rifle or targets. The gun forums report that these shoot into 1" or less at 100 yds. My gunsmith fired one shot to be sure it works and it does. This rifle with full Germanic scroll engraving with shooting scenes is not easy to find. I am Oregon Lumberjack on the other big site with 1000's of positive feedbacks. This wonderful rifle is offfered for $1875 and $65 Shipping to your dealer or C&R is ok in most states. Guaranteed to make you happy.
