D2D has completed over 35,000 offerings during the past 22 years of business! We offer you an “All Matching Numbers” Savage Arms Pre-War Model 29A Take-Down Pump Action .22 Rifle. The model 29A was manufactured from 1939 to around 1949. There are no serial number records and this one we believe dates to being a Pre-War gun. The left side of the barrel is marked “.22 S. L. & L.R.”. The top of the barrel is marked “SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION / UTICA, N.Y. – MADE IN U.S.A.”. The left side of the receiver is marked “SAVAGE / MODEL 29-A”. The front face of the receiver next to the forend is marked with the serial number 50121L. As is the lower tang and the end of the butt stock. The “L” suffix is just a code showing the gun was Savage (branded) model 29 and not a version made for different retailers which have a “K” suffix serial number. The rifle is mounted with a rear U notched flat top ladder sight and a fine brass bead front sight which are both dovetailed into the barrel. Both stocks have very fine original finish that shows dings and marks but with no cracks or repairs. The metal finish has turned a patina color with scattered freckling as shown. The 24 inch barrel has an excellent bore with no issues. The rifle was tested and functions just fine. Many of our estate firearms have been stored for some time and a thorough cleaning and inspection are recommended. This will be shipped fully insured UPS Ground to your FFL for $50. This rifle will be shipped in a double walled foam lined cardboard box that we have manufactured for us so that your gun arrives safe. Payment to be made by USPS Money Order or Cashier’s Check.
