A rare opportunity to purchase a later model English made Rigby that’s every bit as good as the new Highland Stalker for a fraction of the price ($12k). In excellent condition and seen very little use. One of the last English made Rigby's from the late 90's. Mauser 98 action chambered in the versatile .275 (7x57, 7mm Mauser) caliber made famous by Walter Bell and Jim Corbett. Also included is the legendary 3–9 X 36 Zeiss Daivari-C made in W. Germany (details below).
Stocked, assembled, glass bedded, shot and regulated by John Rigby in London. Magazine floor plate engraved “Finished by John Rigby”. Hammer forged Parker Hale barrels and Mauser 98 action. Hand rubbed oil finish and hand checkered. Adjustable trigger. Blued steel grip cap. Includes a mint condition canvas and leather case. An exellent example of a classic English stalking rifle.
The West German made Zeiss Diavari- C is one of the most rugged scopes ever made. The main tube with turret housings was machined out of one piece Duralumin. The scopes themselves went through extensive quality control tests. Each scope was given 1,000 shocks simulating twice the recoil level of a .458 Win Mag. Each reticle adjustment was wound to it's extremities 100 times and then tested to insure the P.O.I. didn’t change. Each scope was placed in a vacuum chamber and subjected to a heavy shower of water for 24 hours. A large part of the cost was in quality control. They are still considered superb scopes with good light gathering ability compared to todays modern designs using the latest technology.
