ORNATE Zimmerstutzen Parlor Rifle by STIEGELE
Description: ORNATE Zimmerstutzen Parlor Rifle by STIEGELE Made in Munich, Germany Circa 1900 Here we present an Engraved, Carved and Inlaid Carl Stiegele Zimmerstutzen Parlor Rifle manufactured at the turn of the 20th Century. This rifle was made in Germany by Carl Stiegele. He was a prolific maker of Schutzen rifles, single shot, very precise rifles used for competitions, and, in many cases, extremely ornate, like this one. The stocks feature custom fit with large cheek rests dramatic curves. Double set triggers are the norm. This example features both an ornately carved stock and engraved iron hardware. The lock side is engraved with floral scrolls, while the opposite depicts a game scene of a duck fleeing a fox. The trigger guard is made of carved wood with an engraved iron finial engraved florally. The top of the barrel is marked “C STIEGELE in MUNCHEN”. This one is equipped with a hooded fine bead front sight, a notch rear, and an aperture sight on the tang. Also includes sling swivels. The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces are covered in a smooth, dark patina. The markings are clear and legible, and the engravings are clear. The bore is dark. The stock is in great shape and very beautiful with the carvings. The trigger and hammer function on this rifle is strong. The breech under the barrel is missing a few parts. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24-6/8 inches. Caliber: .177 (4.5mm) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING.
