Description: SUPERB Model 93 SRC .30-30 Carbine C.1921-24 NO RESERVE Offered here for sale is a newly acquired CIRCA 1921-24 SUPERB Marlin Model 93 saddle ring carbine in .30-30 caliber. The Marlin Model 1893 rifle and carbine were made from 1893 to 1936. Like the Winchester Model 94 model “name” when it became popular the Marlin 1893 designation was changed to the Model 93 (in 1905) (as the Model 1894 became the 94). This early Model is one the most striking in appearance in its finishing and nas far as condition one of the finest we have acquired in our more than 5 decades in the business. The Marlin 1893 production was halted during the early part of the 1900s and resumed in the 1921-24 period. This specimen, serial number 3184 (with no prefix letter), was made during that time and before the New Marlin Firearms Co. was formed in the mid 1920s. The serial range of these specimens have been found only as high as approx. sn 3900 and started with number serial number 1. It has a 20” barrel, steel buttplate, blade front sight. The receiver retains 100% of its bright case coloring and all of it blued finish on barrel. The top of frame is marked “Marlin Safety” and the barrel has the New Haven address and 1893 patent dates along with “Special Smokeless Steel”. The wood only has a few bruises in it )shown in images). It would be very difficult to find a better early model than this and due to its limit numbers made in this variation it should be a welcome addition to any Marlin collection or collection of American arms.
