Model 1894
94
very fine
Description: This is a very fine, higher condition Marlin Model 1894 - the tang designation is marked '94. This shortening of the model number was done approx. 1905-'06. I don't know the exact year manufacture of this rifle, but I believe it is before 1910 - likely 1907-08. The rifle is chambered in the .38-40, it has a 24" full octagon barrel with a fine bore - nice strong rifling the whole way, bright, clean with just a few tiny marks - I would easily rate it a 8.5 -9. The rifle has the scarce Hepburn receiver sight, ( in correct factory holes ). The mid barrel dovetail has a factory spirit level, and has a front Rocky Mountain blade. The action is crisp and positive. The barrel and mag tube have a high percentage of original blueing. The receiver still has alot of case colors, slightly fading, and brighter in protected areas. Under the receiver, there is more wear and smooth patina from carry. The wood is very nice, tight, solid with much finish remaining. It does have scattered light marks and one noticeable bruise on the buttstock. Overall this is a great looking, fine little rifle, a great caliber with scarce sights. **** It is a 'modern gun' - it must ship to a FFL or C&R. **** Certified funds preferred, but I can accept C.Cards with a 3% fee. Shipping and insurance included in price. **** Thank you Price: $4,350.00 Curio/Relic: Yes Rifle Caliber: .38-40 Winchester Manufacturer: Marlin Model: 94 Serial Number: 300257 Barrel Length: 24 Condition: Excellent Contact Seller |
