Description:
This magnificent rifle started its life as an original Gibbs Farquharson rifle, No. 92 to be precise. Over its long life it had become in need of some refurbishment and to that end a number of the most accomplished members of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild took up the task. This full rebuild was headed by Glenn Fewless, who did all of the metalworking. Accompanying him in this project was Doug Mann who crafted the exquisite Turkish walnut stocks, Robert Strosin who engraved the receiver, and Doug Turnbull who lent his expertise in fine metal finishes and color case hardening.
This project not only revived this classic rifle, but brought it to a whole new level with modern craftmanship and techniques combined with the traditional. One item of note is the barrels rib, unlike the traditional soldered on rib, Mr. Fewless instead milled the barrel and rib from a single piece of steel making it an integral piece that can never work loose. But what would this fine piece of craftsmanship be without a case to transport it, the case sourced for this rifle is a custom travel case made by Marvin Huey and includes most things needed to care for the rifle.
