Synopsis: Stunning, all-matching Japanese Type II paratrooper rifle with intact mum, original muzzle cap, and canvas sling. Description: Arguably the most desirable variation of the Type 99 Arisaka rifle, designed to be carried disassembled by paratroopers when jumping from the aircraft and reassembled once on the ground. This all matching rifle, matched to serial number 7847, including the dust cover, has a blade front sight, a folding rear sight with anti-aircraft wings, and a complete mum on the receiver. Matched assembly numbers of 947 are marked on the left side of mating/disassembled parts. Complementing this phenomenal rifle is an original brass muzzle cap and canvas sling. Condition: Excellent original condition with slight fading/toning of the receiver blue. Comparable condition wood, with usual scattered handling marks, but no suggestion of refinish. Similar considerations apply to the muzzle cap and sling. Mirror bright bore and perfect manual mechanics.
