Remington Rolling Block #1 Sporting 45-70 32" Single Set Trigger

Description:

Good condition Remington #1 Sporting Rolling Rolling Block 45-70. This Rolling block started life as a 45-70 with a 32” Barrel and Single Set Trigger. The barrel was shot out shooting Buffalos and it was being converted to shoot a shot load of what gauge I don’t know. That part of the project was not completed. My intentions were to reline the barrel back to the original 45-70 configuration. Too many projects going on now so this one needs to go. I will try to cover all that I see with this rifle but feel free to email or call me. I can get you additional photos if you are interested in the rifle. THe rifle will ship in a hard sided case. Shipping charges will be actual charges. Being an antique the rifle will ship direct.

Finish - Brown Patina
Serial #- 8542 (on both barrel and receiver)
Year of Manufacture - Would be prior to 1890

Condition:
Functionality - Everything functions well. Not shootable in existing condition.
Receiver - Very Good with dents and dings shown well in the photos. Tit put on block to act as bottom extractor. Missing slide extractor.
Barrel External - Heavy barrel. 1.11” at receiver. .9” at muzzle. Interesting primitive sights. Marked 45-70 on bottom forward of forend. Correct remington markings on top. It has been banged around some shown well in photos.
Bore - 0.481 at Muzzle and 0.642 at chamber.
Trigger - Set trigger functions properly. Standard trigger is very light and should be increased. Holds at half cock.
Stock - Dark and dinged but no cracks or splits.
Sights - Primitive home made sights.
