Remington #2 Rolling Block - 38 Cal (?)

Description:
Here is a cool old rifle. It is a Remington #2 rolling block that has been gunsmithed into what you see. The bore is good and the rifle has a nice folding tang peep sight. This one has been converted from rimfire to centerfire and a 38 special fits in the chamber but bore is too large, like .380-.390 when I measured at muzzle. Firing pin is is little tight in the block and sometimes gets stuck forward. A little pressure pops it loose again. 

The #2 Remington rolling block is a smaller scale civilian model sporting rifle using a receiver patterned after the 1871 Army pistol. A number of the parts are interchangeable with the 1871, 1891 and 1902 pistols as well as the #7 target rifle. This rifle was produced in a wide variety of  rim fire and center fire cartridges.
