This is an exceptionally nice looking Vintage (march 1973) BDL VS (Varmint) rifle. Chambered in inexpensive and avail everywhere 223 Rem. A not distant cousin in a more deluxe format to the Viet Era Sniper rifles (M 40) and known for exceptional out of the box accuracy. This one has an uncommonly attractive stock which aside from minor handling marks is not much different from when it left Illion NY back in 1973 , the blue is also near new. It comes with an exceptional US Made Burris  6x18 Fullfield  with an AO...This company now makes their scope overseas however if this scope were produced in the US today it would likely sell for 800.00 or so. At the time these were made had a lifetime warranty.
These early (this is a 2d gen...they were lst produced in 1967) 2d gen VS is distinguished by the Ribbon Style checkering panel, which replaced the lst gen Fleur De List Style)
