Remington 600 Magnum 1965 First Year Production Beauty Completely Original
Description:
These terrific potent 600 Magnum Carbines are sought by hunters and collectors. Chambered in 350 Rem Mag perhaps the earliest of the short magnums as popluar today as when this gun was made In Illon NY in Aug 1965. Distinquised by the ventilated rib and attractive early laminated stocks. While as we recall a few of the Magnums were producred in the regualr Walnut stock most were as this one made with the laminated version helping to insure stability in changing weather conditions and enhanced strenght. Although it appears there was small repair to the right of the trigger guard i think this is the lst one we've ever see with even the slightest crack.
This gun which came to us from the Mountain West belonged to an old cowboy....Small enough to be carried on horseback, a truck, atv or even a Mountain Ebike to get into the back country.....it would make a terrific elk rifle and have enough pop to handle a bear should one need to . These (all 600's) are known for excellent accuracy. There is very small area unter the front sight with is mounted on top of the rib that could use a little help (we can walk you thru the easy fix)
Often the plastic t guard are warped but this one i NOT and fits almost perfectly flush to the underside of stock
Still has the correct Remington black recoil pad.
