This is a mint (UNFIRED) Prototype Remington Custom Shop Model 700 North American Custom Rifle in .257 Weatherby Mag with a 26” barrel.
Designed and constructed by hand in Sturgis SD. These rifles are no longer made as Remington is no longer operating and this rifle was made by hand in the Sturgis SD Remington Custom Shop (the same shop that Dakota’s were built in and Parkwest Arms is now operating in.)
The Remington 700 North American Custom Rifles have a level of precision, durability and reliability only attainable through personal attention and craftsmanship.
This rifle was built as a prototype for the 700 North American and that can be clearly seen by the lack of Remington markings on the barrel. It is custom-turned and chambered, hammer-forged, stainless steel barrel is incredibly durable and accurate (Remington used Krieger match barrels for their finest rifles built in Sturgis since when Remington shipped their barrel making equipment from NY to them no-one knew how to run the equipment) and this rifles benefits from that as well! The blue-printed Model 700 stainless-steel action ensures receiver-face and bolt-face squareness and uniform locking-lug contract. A custom Timney trigger (not a cheap Mark X trigger) was installed and tuned and set by the Custom Shop at 2.5 lbs. A full-length aluminum bedding block, machined-steel stainless steel trigger guard and floorplate assembly, and a Bell & Carlson composite stock complete this build.
I am the original owner of this 700 Custom Shop rifle and purchased it from First Stop in Rapid City SD and it is MINT AND UNFIRED.
These rifles will NEVER be built again, and it represents the ultimate of Remington’s craftsman’s skill.

New - I received a rather distasteful inquirey concerning the legetimacy of my statements concerning if this gun in fact is a Remingtom Custom Shop build. So just for anyone's doubts, I added 3 photos of proof that is is a Remington Sturgus Custom Shop Rem 700. That documentation will be included, but as we ALL know Remington is no longer making these guns and there custom shop was shut down therefore no more information can be obtained from them. I also have an email string showing both my emails to Remington and from them back to me concerning the FACT that the gun was made in the Remington Custom Shop in Sturgus.
