Remington Rolling Block 7mm
Description:
This very good to excellent Remington Rolling Block Rifle in 7mm (7x57 or possibly 7mm Spanish) shows an Octr 23 1901 patent date on the upper tang rollermark. The photographs accurately depict the metal ad wood condition which I would put at about 85-90%. The rifle has obviously been in service somewhere. The bore appears bright, though with high magnification borescope examination there is slight pitting in places though most groove edges remain sharp. This is to be expected in a rifle that was issued in the early smokeless powder era when corrosive primers were the rule. Though there is no provenance on the rifle, there is what appears to be a Chinese character carved into the forearm just ahead of the receiver. These rifles were used by military and police forces through the world, including China, Korea and Japan as well as many Central and South American nations. Because of manufacturing variations, the rifle should be headspaced by a gunsmith before firing, as some have been known to have excessive headspace when compared with SAMMI specs.
The rifle will ship in a hard case, insured. Shipping will be $110 in addition to the rifle price. Rifle must ship to an FFL holder, be sure your FFL will accept shipments from private individuals. Payment by Postal or Bank Money Order or Cashier’s Check. Personal checks are acceptable, but shipment will occur at least 3 days after the check clears our bank.
