Remington Model 12-B Gallery Special Rifle in .22 Short
Description:
Serial #506430, .22 Short, 24" octagon barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a small amount of freckling within the grooves near the muzzle. This is a 1925-made rifle that has retained 92-95% of the original blue finish, with some silvering at the muzzle, along the edges of the barrel facets, and further gray brown freckling along the bearing surfaces of the magazine tube. There are some scattered spots of plum-brown freckling on the "GALLERY SPECIAL"-marked frame, as well as in spots along the barrel. The grooved walnut forend and pistol-grip buttstock are in fine shape with only minor handling marks and small blemishes scattered about the original varnish. The crescent steel "REM / UMC" buttplate is in fine shape with original blue mixing with a mellow plum-brown patina. These rifles are usually found in well-worn condition, but this example is in fine-near excellent condition, and would make a splendid addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
