Rare STANDARD ARMS Model G Semi-Automatic+Slide Action RIFLE .35 REMINGTON Combination Autoloader or Pump Repeater! C&R
Description: Rare STANDARD ARMS Model G Semi-Automatic+Slide Action RIFLE .35 REMINGTON Combination Autoloader or Pump Repeater! C&R Here we present a Standard Arms Company Model G Semi-Automatic/Slide Action Rifle, manufactured in 1910 in Wilmington, Delaware. Invented by Morris F. Smith of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Standard Model G is arguably one of the most unique American rifles ever produced, having the ability to fire as an autoloader or as a pump. Not much is known of Smith. We know, however, that on March 6, 1906, he was awarded Patent No. 314,242 for an “automatic gas-operated rifle”. Estimated production of this unusual rifle is believed to have been somewhere close to 12,000 units. Versions were offered in chamberings of .25-35, .30-30, and .35 Remington. What makes this rifle unique is that it can be operated in semi-automatic mode or, by merely closing the gas port, can be used as a slide action rifle. Standard Arms Co. (1909-1911) and Standard Arms Manufacturing Company (1912-1914) are the two known barrel markings for the firearm. There was also a “Camp Model” rifle capable of firing .50 caliber buckshot or round balls in very limited numbers. The overall condition is good. The action is strong and crisp. The bore is in good shape. The slide is cast brass with some black Japan remaining and two wildlife scenes on the left and right sides. One scene features a moose, and the other a mountain lion. “AMT/RB/” and the serial number “7101” are stamped on the trigger guard tang. The butt plate has also been cast of brass and features the “SAC” (Standard Arms Co.) monogram. This example features a rear peep sight. A fascinating rifle with a number of interesting, innovative, and attractive features! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 22 inches. Caliber: .35 Remington Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1250 #20255 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
