This United States Rifle, Caliber .30-06, Model 1903, is an american made five-round magazine fed, bolt-action service repeating rifle,
Remington Model 1903 SN 3035658. The year of manufacture for serial number 3035658 is April, 1942. The receiver has an additional gas port ("Hatcher Hole" - dubbed after army ordnance officer MG Julian Hatcher, the US Marines decided this procedure was to be done on all their 1903 rifles on the left side of the receiver). Some US Army issued rifles that also are said to have the Hatcher Hole.
Barrel is dated 1-42 with RA over a Flaming Bomb near the front sight. Original parkerized finish. R on front barrel band. U on mid barrel band. One punch mark near R on bolt indicates possible US Marine Corps issue. P in circle stamped in handgrip.
Cleaning kit in recess of stock.
Bore is bright with riflings throughtout. Some duskiness near muzzle. Rifle stock in great shape with no dings or cracks. Honor Guard quality. No rust or corrosion on metal. Appears to have been an Arms Room Queen.
Fully functional and shootable. Inspected by certified professional Quality Engineer.
C&R shippable.
