Excellent Remington Model 1882 Lee Bolt-Action Rifle
Description: Serial #22949, .45-70 Gov’t., 32" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome rifle that retains 95-97% of a factory quality reapplied blue finish that has silvered and freckled slightly at the muzzle, as well as some minor surface scratches on the left side of the receiver. The barrel is US inspected and proofed, although no other US markings appear on the rifle, and the receiver is of the modified type with the original diagonal "hood" at the receiver ring squared off in the manner of the later Model 1885 Lee. The bolt is in-the-white, with some spots of dark freckling along the body, as well as some browning on the handle. The walnut stock is in fine-near excellent condition with some minor handling marks and blemishes along the belly of the buttstock, and on either side at the receiver. All of the stock swivels have been modified to conform to the curve of the forend wood when folded, and the original ramrod is still present. This is a splendid example of a Model 1882 Lee rifle, and is in excellent condition overall. Antique SOLD Antique: Yes |
