Description: Fresh out of a local collection, this rifle has been stashed away for the last 9 years and just released to the market. It is a Remington Model 700 BDL Heavy Barrel Varmint model in the desirable 6mm Rem caliber, barrel date code "KS" made May 1969, serial number 6244462, 24" heavy round barrel, 2nd style "ribbon" type checkering, pistol grip with cap & white line spacer, black fore end cap with white line spacer, shot gun butt with Remington logo aluminum butt plate, factory sling swivel studs, hinged floor plate, blued finish, topped with a Nikon 6-18x40 BDC scope with adjustable objective, Picatinny style scope base and Weaver style scope rings. The heavy barrel varmint version of the 700 BDL was first introduced in 1967, so this is a third year gun in that respect. Also, 1969 was the first year for the ribbon style checkering. CONDITION: Barrel retains 90% original thinning blue with an excellent bore. One-piece stock has some extra fancy deluxe flame grain in the butt and very nice ribbon style checkering that has never been freshened. There are typical nicks and dings in the stock from use but no splits or cracks, still retaining 95% of the original factory varnish. Action is smooth. Two stage safety (safe and fire) works as designed, as does the bolt release and floor plate release (both found at the trigger bow loop). Receiver and floor plate show 93% original bright blue. Overall grades NRA Modern Fine.
