Description:
Beck worked in Lebanon Co. Pennsylvania, he served in the Pa. militia 1778-1781 in the revolutionary war. In 1791 the Pa. gun builders choose him to build a presentation rifle for Washington.The original was 44 cal. single trigger, this rifle is 40 cal. single set triger, otherwise a copy of the original.It has a Rice Dickert barrel B wt. 44". a Chambers Lock. Chambers White Lightnin Touch Hole Liner, a L & R Single Set Trigger ( cock and pull trigger 2 lb. pull, cock and push trigger foreword till it chicks and pull 2oz.pull ). Extra fancy Curly Maple, oil finished.Cast Brass hardware, barrel and lock hot browned. LOP 13 3/4 ", wt. 8lbs 10 oz. All screws timedes with a soft case.40 cal. is very accurate, still can take up to Deer size game. The original Washington rifle purchased in 2003 for over 1 million dollars and put on display.
