WW2 1944 Tula Mosin Nagant 91/30 PU Sniper ** All-Matching w/ Mitchell Provenance Letter **

Description:
This consignment piece is one of the harder to find WW2-production Tula-made Mosin Nagant 91/30 PU Sniper rifles as the majority of original snipers were made by Izhevsk.  This Tula is the sniper variation with the "CH" marking over the Tula Arsenal star maker's mark rather than the "CN".  All original Tula-made 91/30 PU sniper rifles were marked with one of the two letter sets, thus verifying that this was an original WW2 sniper rather than a standard rifle made into a sniper post-war.  This 91/30 PU was imported by Mitchell's Mausers and is import marked on the underside of the barrel near the muzzle, and comes with a certificate of authenticity from Mitchell's Mausers.  All of the numbered parts on this 91/30 PU match, and they are all stamped rather than electro-penciled like most we have encountered over the years.  The barrel shank of this Mosin is stamped with two serial numbers, the factory original serial number of the rifle "TO541" in the normal location under the Tula star, and the serial number of the scope on the left side "117046".  The receiver itself is stamped with the importer's applied serial number "82202".  The WW2 original scope base appears unnumbered, while the actual WW2-original scope mount itself is stamped with the rifle's serial number "TO541".  The floorplate and buttplate are stamped with the whole serial number of the rifle "TO541", while the bolt is stamped with the last 3 digits "541".  The solid wood stock and handguard appear to be un-numbered, but the buttstock is marked on the right side with the Tula star and the date 1944, which matches the production date of the rifle.  As you can see from the pictures, the arsenal finish on this 91/30 PU is very good, with a pretty consistent blue showing on all of the metal parts with just light/minor wear in places.  The bore in this Tula Mosin is excellent, shiny and bright with nice sharp rifling throughout.  There is no pitting, erosion, or imperfections visible.  All of the controls on this rifle are in perfect working order, and the action is smooth, precise, and locks up tight with no slop.  The original scope has nice clear optics and all of the controls on the scope are in working order.  The owner has never fired the rifle since acquiring it so we do not know if the scope is zeroed.  This Tula 91/30 PU sniper rifle comes with a set of original leather lens covers and a Russian military sling.  If you have been looking for a nice clean example of the famous 91/30 PU sniper rifle, here is your chance to get a good one that should be an excellent shooter as well as an investment.
