Description: For consideration is a very nice Tula Arsenal Nagant 1891/30 bolt action rifle in 7.62x54R caliber. The Mosin–Nagant is a five-shot, bolt-action, internal magazine–fed military rifle. Known officially as the 3-line rifle M1891 and informally in Russia and the former Soviet Union as Mosin's rifle, it is primarily found chambered for its original 7.62×54mmR cartridge. Developed from 1882 to 1891, it was used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other states. It is one of the most mass-produced military bolt-action rifles in history, with over 37 million units produced since 1891. In spite of its age, it has been used in various conflicts around the world up to the present day. The 1891/30 was the most prolific version of the Mosin–Nagant. It was produced for standard issue to all Soviet infantry from 1930 to 1945. Most Dragoon rifles were also converted to the M1891/30 standard. It was commonly used as a sniper rifle in World War II. This particular rifle is in very good condition for a Russian service rifle made in 1942. It has some high edge and muzzle wear but nothing serious....very slight handling marks. The sights are hooded post at the front and adjustable rear. The barrel has a good bore with strong rifling. This Tula Model 91/30 would make a great addition to a collection of militaria or a good shooter since 7.62x54R is fairly common to find.
