Description:
By 1924, The Finnish Army and Civil Guard depots were left with over 200,000 rifle barrels in need of repair. The government's research led to an Italian process known as the Salerno method. This method involved boring out the barrels and inserting a tubular liner to replace the lost rifling. Approximately 15,000 rifles underwent this process between 1925 and 1928. These rifles are stamped with a "P" and a 2 digit number to indicate the year of manufacture. This rifle is stamped as a P-27, indicating that it was produced in 1927. The number of P-series rifles that survived WWII is unknown, and the number of those that were imported to the United States was presumably even lower, making this a very rare rifle.
This has an original M91 one-piece stock with Finn wire escutcheons and hangers. Cartouche is on right side of buttstock. Left side of sight numbers have been crossed out and transferred to right side. Bore is shiny and bright. Rifle also has Finn green leather sling. Cleaning rod is present.
[SA] is stamped on left side of receiver. Import marks on barrel near muzzle. Matching numbers on barrel, and bolt knob.
