M39 Finnish VKT State arsenal Mosin Nagant M39 characteristics:
All Finnish major parts except Russian bolt, receiver & newly modified magazine.
Designed for adaptation to both infantry and ski trooper.
Regarded as finest, most accurate wartime open sight Mosin Nagant ever produced.

The Finnish M39 produced between 1941-1945 is considered to be the best Mosin Nagant ever produced, as the Finns refurbished the rifles to a much higher standard than the Soviets.
They replaced the furniture, producing a very distinctive look. Re-barreled the actions with superior Finnish barrels, made improvements to the trigger mechanism, shimmed the actions and counterbored the rifles.
This was on top of all the earlier improvements beginning from 1927 when the Finnish Army upgraded the M91 Mosin Nagant to the new M27 design standard, with a cut down stock and shorter barrel, new front sights which had protective ears. This earned the M27 the nickname “Spitz”. While the Finnish Civil Guard’s M28 was an improvement upon the Army’s M27 rifle. They re-worked the trigger and installed the “spitz” front sight along with a new improved barrel. The M28 was upgraded again, to be known as the M28-30 rifle, with a new rear sight, a screw adjustable “Spitz” front sight and the installation of an aluminum bushing in the nose-cap to increase accuracy.
 
About this piece:
This M39 is in very fine condition. The marbling and coloration of the Finnish arctic hardwood birch is unique and appealing, showing minor handling marks from use. The blued metal finish is undamaged and exhibits fine craftsmanship of finish with very minor handling marks. Finish serial numbers match bolt, receiver and barrel. The bore is bright, showing strong rifling. Action is smooth like glass; trigger has a crisp release.
No rust or damage. No import stamps.

Modern firearms must be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer in your area. A C&R license is acceptable for C&R firearms only (guns determined to be C&R eligible by ATF and/or guns known to be at least 50 years old).
New York Residents: Handguns cannot be shipped directly to a C&R holder in the State of New York and must be transferred through your local dealer.
Antique firearms require the buyer to supply proof of age. Some areas may require an FFL transfer for antique & black powder firearms (New Jersey, NYC, etc.)
