Montana Rifle Company 1999, Professional Hunter, .416 Rigby Magnum Bolt-Action Rifle
Description: Montana Rifle Company (MRC) 1999, Professional Hunter, .416 Rigby Magnum, bolt-action rifle, with a double square bridge action, a 25-inch barrel (excluding muzzle break), a tan-with-black-splatters composite stock with sling swivels, and a Leupold VX-3 4.5-14 X 40 scope, as well as iron sights, including a hooded front sight. Year of manufacture: I have been unable to determine the year of manufacture of this gun, however, I believe it was manufacture in the early 2000s. Other than MRC 1999 and Professional Hunter stamped on the left side of the receiver, I have not had much luck in determining the specific model of this rifle. I believe it might be an MRC Alaskan for a couple of reasons. First, it is a DGR (dangerous game rifle). Second, it has a composite stock. The other two DGRs made early-on by MRC were offered only with wood stocks. Near as I can tell, the Alaskan is the only one that came with a composite stock. I am not sure if the muzzle break is original equipment. Someone has suggested that because the ports are aligned at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock, rather than 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock, the break might have been added. This gun is on consignment with me. The owner inherited it some years ago from an old gunsmith friend and has never fired it. The old gunsmith seemed to have like big magnum rifles as he had several, all of which appeared to be unfired or fired only a few times. The overall condition of this gun is 99+ percent. I seldom call any gun 100 percent that is not new-in-the-box. I believe the gun has not been fired, but I cannot substantiate that. There are no box, papers, or accessories with this rifle. The finish on the metal and on the composite stock are very excellent. The matte black barrel is like new with no scratches, mars, blemishes, or other signs of wear – 100 percent. The receiver also is in very excellent condition with no scratches, mars, blemishes, or other signs of wear – 100 percent. The composite stock also is in very excellent condition with no sign of wear – 100 percent. The butt plate is in perfect condition. The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details. Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better. The buyer pays $65 for USPS Priority mail and $42.65 for insurance. Virginia buyers must pay 5.3% sales tax. The fastest way to get this gun is to pay with USPS (U.S. Postal Service) money orders, as they are like cash. I will ship the revolver immediately upon receipt of a USPS money order and an FFL. I will also accept a personal check or other type money, as well as bank checks and cashier's checks, but I will hold the gun until it clears my bank; this includes bank checks and cashier’s checks. I do not accept credit cards, debit cards, or PayPal. Check or money order must be made out to Jerry Pownall or Barboursville Arms. If you wish to contact me, please "Email Seller". I will answer your questions, explain the purchase / transfer process, and provide my mailing address. I am available any time, except Friday evenings and Saturdays. I will return emails Saturday evening. SOLD |
