Chamber is "in the White" and shows no signs of any refinishing. Bore is mirror bright and looks new. Rifle was originally sold by the CMP in 2010 and includes original certificate. Rifles in this condition are no longer available for sale, and are sent direct to CMP .

The stock is excellent, and shows original final standing marks by the stock makers. The Original 3/8" DAS (Eagle and Stars) is deeply struck, nice and crisp. The circle P is also deeply struck, original and crisp, without serifs. All the wood, stock and handguards, match beautifully and have a few of the normal handling marks. Stock locks UP tight shows some of the usual dings or handling marks. The wood grain on this stock in beautiful and is the deep red colored walnut seen on post war rifles.
This is a very beautiful original rifle, looks next to unissued, showing only handling dings from being stacked with other rifles but not from use. 1954 HRA rifles are tough to find in this condition and are arguably the best Garands made. It will ship in a CMP green hard case for safety and an excellent USGI greensling.
I have a varied interest in all things M1 Garand, 1903 Springfield and M1A/M14 rifles. Let’s hope we all get to see CMP 1911 .45 pistols soon!
