action works fine //27 inch iron barrel //pitted bore //41 inches oa // /repaired crack in forend under barrel cant see except where replaced ramrod shows at front //has signature under barrel and on stock fwd of trigger / / stock shows normal use for its age / dragon inlay at breach / i would call this a carbine model for caverly / weighs about 13 lbs / see a bronze barrel matchlock i have listed weights about 22 lbs $55 sh / this may have been made in late 1600 early 1700 // see some pictures of tight cracks // has original sights

Tanegashima was a type of matchlock firearm introduced to Japan from Portugal in 1543. It changed the way war was fought in Japan and was used by samurai and ashigaru in the Sengoku and Edo periods
