1886 Mfg. Antique German Military Amberg Mauser Model M71/84 Rifle in 11mm Mauser * All-Matching Except Bolt & NON Import Marked *

Description:
This is an exceptionally-cool, all-original and scarce, non-import-marked, Amberg Mauser M71/84 Infantry Rifle chambered in 11mm Mauser that is ALL-MATCHING EXCEPT THE BOLT!  The bolt matches itself, and it locks-up into battery and cycles both smoothly, and precisely. The Mauser M71/84 was the first repeating bolt-action rifle adopted by Germany's Military.  The 11mm Mauser cartridge it was chambered in is also known as .43 Spanish, 11x60mmR, and Patrone M71 & Patrone M71/84 to a much lessor degree.  The M71/84 being chambered in the same cartridge as the Mauser M71 was a big deal, as it gave Germany a chance to use the  large quantities of 11mm Mauser ammunition they had stockpiled, which represented a large amount of money at a time where they were being as frugal as possible.
     The Mauser Infanterie Gewehr M1871/84, also known simply as the M71/84, is a bolt-action repeating infantry rifle designed by using the M71 Mauser action and overall design as the starting point to create a new bolt-action repeating infantry rifle. They ended up modifying the receiver and stock to house a lifting and loading mechanism that was powered and tripped into action with the cycling of the bolt, that stripped a round out of the tubular magazine located under the barrel during the bolt's travel rearward and as the empty was ejected, then presented that cartridge for the bolt to pick-up as the bolt moved forward, which chambered the round and finally the bolt was locked-up into battery with the barrel when the bolt was turned down completely, at the end of the action's cycle. The new rifle was tested extensively and the new action proved to be very reliable, strong, and accurate.   
      The biggest advantage of this new design was of-course, the 8-round tubular magazine mounted under the barrel and inside the stock.  Due to the size of the cartridges, the magazine was made to run nearly the entire length of the rifle in order to fit 8 round magazine capacity added to one in chamber for 9 total rounds on-board that can be fired in rapid-succession before needing to be reloaded.  This is gave the troops carrying these a huge advantage over the vast majority of their adversaries, whose armies were armed primarily with single-shot rifles that we slow to load, and often inaccurate.
