UNITED STATES RIFLE MODEL OF 1917
Description:
I’m selling a nice M1917 manufactured at the Eddystone Pennsylvania plant on or near August/September 1918. The barrel is dated 11-18 and could be the original barrel as stated in a great book I have called “UNITED STATES RIFLE MODEL OF 1917” by C.S. Ferris. The book also has this rifle in the serial number range that could have been sent to Shanghai China in the early 1920’s. The markings I could see show that all but the cocking piece on the bolt are Eddystone, the cocking piece in stamped W for Winchester. She’s in really good shape and is a good shooter. I recorded a 4 ½” group at 100yds with Hornady M1 Grand 168 g match ammo. I had two rounds touching and the other two were 3" right and were 1 1/2" apart. It could have been my hold on a cloudy day. I’ll ship it in a hard case to prevent damage and it is C&R eligible.
