(Sale Pending at 1-31-23) This Springfield 03-A3 was made by Remington. I bought it to compete in local bolt action military rifle matches. I bought it because the barrel is mirror bright and the rifling is perfect. I shot it, initially to do a 3 shot group and when the 3rd shot was to the left of the group I turned it into a 5 shot group to see if shot 3 was Charlie or the rifle. It turned out it was Charlie. That target is attached with the load information, this rifle will really shoot. I never shot it in those matches because they had a rapid fire part of the match and I did not want to get the barrel that hot and damage it. The barrel is 24" and 4 groove and was made in Feb 1943, and therefore was the last of the 4 grove barrels, as they converted to using 2 groove barrels in Feb 1943. The barrel has the flaming bomb mark above the date. The serial number indicates the completed rifle was assembled in March or April 1943. The rifle is as issued, the metal has a parkerized finish which is in good shape. The bolt is tight and smooth, and the wood has the dings and handling marks of being a military rifle that was used. I have tried to capture everything in the photos, but if you have any questions please email me or call.
