National Postal Meter M1 Carbine, WWII Vintage, Cal. .30 Carbine, World War II, 1944

Description:
1944 production National Postal Meter M1 Carbine fitted with a 18 inch barrel (IBM corp.), standard military sights, is parkerized finished, and chambered in .30 Carbine.  This M1 Carbine has a nice look about it on both the metal and the wood. The Inland stock shows avery faint Odnance wheel stamp. Post war inspections/overhauls were common on most U.S. weapons used during WW2. Many of these saw further service in Korea and Vietnam. This carbine has a mix of various M1 Carbine manufacturer's parts as is common on arsenal overhauls. The bore is lightly frosted with sharp rifling and measures 2+ on the guage. The action and all controls function perfectly.  The stock and handguard are in very fine condition, retaining most of their military finishes. Note: The handguard is cracked lengthwise but has been glued back together.  A nice example of its type.
