German WWII Walther AC44 G43 Rifle, matching
Description: Up for sale a very nice condition German Walther manufactured AC-44 G43 rifle. The development behind the G43 was a mid-war effort by the Germans to come up with a self-loading rifle to replace the bolt action K98 used by troops. Production of the rifle was assigned to Walther (AC), Gustloff (BCD) and Berlin Lubeck (DUV), Walther and Berlin Lubeck both produced rifles from 1944 until the end of the war in 1945, Gustloff stopped production in mid-1944. There are several variations that come up in the production run and this is one of the less common, the receiver is the cosmetically machined variety that was manufactured at the French sub-contractor St. Etienne (note the e/134 proof on the receiver) and used by Walther during their production. Unlike the more common roughly forged finish receivers this one has the nice machine finish quality. Rifle is from the N block which puts it in the November-December 1944 production time frame. All original and all matching, very nice overall condition, correct and original hood (a real G43 hood, not a K98 hood) and cleaning rod. Rifle stock is serial numbered and proofed on the keel and a single waffen e/359 proof on the cheek. A very nice collector grade gun and one of the more difficult to find in original condition, would make a fine addition to your WWII collection. Bolt internals are numbered and e/359 proofed correctly to the gun. Includes an AYE K43 magazine correct for this rifle. The tongues on the inside of the trigger guard where it fits to the receiver have an old glue repair, it looks like they started to separate and someone in the past reinforced them with glue. Not noticeable, the repair is on the inside of the handguard and they are now solid. There is also a 1.5" hairline crack above one of the handguard tongues, again, not really noticeable but wanted to note. If you have any questions or need additional pictures just let me know. Rifle includes a 3-day non-firing inspection period. Rifle is sold as a collectible, if you intend to shoot it the rifle should be checked by a gunsmith before heading to the range. Rifle must ship to an FFL or FFL C&R Shipping is $50 for USPS Priority Mail with tracking. Insurance is additional. Alaska, Hawaii and Canada shipping is at cost. No International Sales outside of Canada. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
