Description:
The Finnish M39 is considered by most to be the very best Mosin Nagant model variation ever made.  Just like the Russian Model 1891 rifle, the Finnish m/39 is a bolt-action rifle fed by a five round internal box magazine and chambered in 7.62x54mmR (the “R” stands for “Rimmed,” not “Russian”), though the Finns later experimented with their own 7.62x53mmR cartridge. It shares many features with the original Mosin rifle design, including its very simple, very durable and quickly disassembled bolt. Longevity and ease of disassembly were on the minds of those judging the original Model 1891 and the m/39 keeps those features.  The m/39 was the last of the Finnish variants to be domestically designed and produced and it shows. It features a few design aspects representative of the transition from bolt-action long rifles in general military service to more compact assault rifles and semi-automatic carbines, like a pistol grip buttstock (though some early models had straight stocks) and a comparatively shorter barrel. Almost all Finnish variants of the rifle are considered higher quality in build, more accurate and more reliable than their Russian counterparts and the m/39 is no exception.
During the Russian Revolution in 1917, Finland took advantage of the turmoil to declare its independence from Russia. They expelled all the communists and the armories left behind were filled with M1891 Mosin Nagants. The Finns rebuilt the rifles to their own specifications, including new barrels, sights, and stocks. The Finnish military then used these rifles to devastating effect during the Winter and Continuance wars. This Finnish M39 Mosin-Nagant is one of the finest examples of the Mosin Nagant rifle. For sale is a Finnish SAKO M-39 bolt-action rifle in 7.62×54R. Serial number – 212483. Mfg Dated 1944. This Finnish rifle is in excellent condition.  It has the SA stamp and an import mark underneath the barrel states TGI Knox, TN.  The rifle's visible serial numbers all match except on the bottom of the fixed magazine.
