Good working Berthier /LEBEL M1916 rifle with the upper hand-guard, and front bayonet lug, chambered for the 8X50.MM LEBEL cartridge. Wood is good French Walnut with a stock number that's very light and doesn't match the receiver.The bolt has a different number than the receiver also, but there is no import mark on this gun. The top hand-guard has a very fine stress crack forward of the front sight but is closed and been there a very long time and is typical for this rifle . SN 42794, and gun made by the old gun maker ST. ETIENNE. The stock has several military arsenal re-burbish wood pieced into the stock so this gun could be used for several wars from WWI through the Viet Nam war. One piece added at the toe of the stock, and two pieces added below the rear sight on the left side f the stock.The re-furbishing is a French tradition for over 200+ years of arms making. The 31 1/2" barrel has a strong rifling and roughness down in the grooves from war-time corrosive primers. The military blue remaining is about 90% and the rifle over all is very clean and would make a good shooter.We don’t have asite .I prefer money orders or a check. Item ships when funds come in.
