Guns International #: 101975830
Seller's Inventory #: AL6067
The 6.5X53Rmm Model 1895 was produced for the Dutch Army and Dutch East Indies forces. This gun was for Army use as it does not have the two gas escape holes in the reciever that identify East Indies guns. The 31"" barrel has a dark bore with strong rifling that will most likely clean even better. The metal has a smooth blue-brown patina. The receiver number and buttpllate munber match but the bolt is non-matching. The receiver is marked STEYR 1896. The stock is very good with the expected dents and dings of an army issue gun. The handguard has an old crack behind the rear sight. The cleaning rod is absent. The action functions properly with the exception that the bolt safety is inoperative. These early Dutch bolt action Army rifles are hard to find. Don't miss it!
