Springfield Armory
Description: U.S. (EARLY) WWII SEPT, 1943) M1 GARAND, ‘’SPRINGFIELD ARMORY’’! SN 2,241,--- BARREL ‘’SA 9-43’’ (ORIGINAL BARREL)! >*W/MINTY BORE *BARREL THROAT GAUGES ONLY A 2 (NEW)! *RE-ARSENALED, W/ ‘’SA/EMcF’’ (ORIG.) CARTOUCHE & ‘’BA’’ ARSENAL CARTOUCHE (See Below)! *DOCUMENTED ‘’CMP’’ SALES’’ W ORIGINAL CMP CERTIFICATE of AUTHENTICITY, MANUAL! Just here and fresh out of Gov’t/CMP storage being just sold by the CMP on June 19, 2019 and completely Documented being complete with its original CMP CERTIFICATE of AUTHENTICITY, MANUAL! All information is totally intact except owner’s personal information removed. Book Reference: Please refer to the fine books on M1 Garands by Scott A. Duff and also Bruce N. Canfield on this subject as these are ‘’The bible’’ on the M1 Garand Rifles! *It is as follows: This example is very much the exception of the usual current CMP M1 Garand Sales as it is of earlier/Mid-WWII manufacture by Springfield Armory SN 2,241,--- and still retains its original SA Factory ‘’SA 9-43’’ barrel that remarkably has a most outstanding Excellent Bore and with the barrel throat gauging at only a ‘’2’’ on an original US Ordnance Gauge that goes from 0-10! **Gauges basically ‘’as Factory New’’! *Also Note: Another important feature of the most Historical September, 1943 Springfield Armory M1 Garand is that the barrels ‘’Gas Port’’ area is NOT Chromed and remains in its ‘’virgin’’ WWII Factory originality! Action and mechanically it is CMP Excellent! Though in need of a good cleaning the original Arsenal metal finish is quite outstanding and rates at appx 95% to 98% overall! As stated typically it was Re-Arsenaled after WWII at Benicia Arsenal and Documented as such with the Arsenal ‘’BOXED BA’’ Cartouche is nicely stamped on the left rear butt stock. Also as another part of the Rifles past history there is still a very visible WWII Springfield Armory ‘’BOXED SA over EMcF’’ Cartouche on the left side below the rear sight! The bottom of the pistol grip has the SA Factory ‘’Circle P’’ Proof that is very nice deep and sharp. The original WWII wood set is all walnut with all 3 pieces matching very nicely in their original WWII color, fit, finish and having a nice Historic WWII look to them. The entire wood set is also in need of a good cleaning rates serviceable and about VG overall with no visible repairs simply marks from its 76 years of Historical use and service. The butt plate needs cleaning simply showing age and some surface rust but with sharp visible checkering. History/Use: This M1 Rifle was originally manufactured in the earlier WWII period of Springfield Armory manufacture SN 2,241,--- 9-1943 (September, 1943) that virtually ALL manufacture went right into service/use and most all were in combat seeing most all that the Battles that actually made WWII History! As such its WWII History would have even Pre-Dated all of the ETO Campaigns: pre-dated (by appx 9 months) the ‘’D-Day/Normandy’’ Invasion of Europe and even most of the Italian Campaigns and most all of the PTO Pacific Island Battles and on ward! This Rifles period of manufacture (September of 1943) could well have put it most any place most of the major Historic Battles took place and for this period/era one near impossible to up-grade! Being complete with its Documentation and etc. This is with out a doubt one of the Best of the CMP M1 Garand Rifles being available today and would make a very nice addition to any Collectors Collection, a very easy and much more valuable M1 Garand for restoratiuon or simply as a Very Historical Shooter!? With this all in mind Note: *The Original ‘’SA/EMcF’’ Cartouche, *Oriiginal WWII Barrel, *OUTSTANDING Bore and *‘’As NEW’’ Throat Guaging Only a 2 which is indeed simply AS NEW! *Plus, the barrels ‘’Gas Port’’ area is NOT Chromed and remains in its ‘’virgin’’ WWII Factory originality! **PLUS ALL ITS ORIGINAL ‘’CMP’’ DOCUMENTATION (Owners personal information removed for his privacy) SOLD Manufacturer: Springfield Armory Model: M1 Garand Serial Number: 2,241,--- Caliber Info: 30/06 Bore Condition: Minty Manufacture Date: 9/43 |
