EMPIRE of JAPAN World War II PACIFIC THEATER 6.5mm Nagoya Type 38 C&R RIFLE ARISAKA by the Nagoya Arsenal w/BAYONET & SCABBARD
Description: EMPIRE of JAPAN World War II PACIFIC THEATER 6.5mm Nagoya Type 38 C&R RIFLE ARISAKA by the Nagoya Arsenal w/BAYONET & SCABBARD Here we present a C&R Japanese Nagoya Type 38 Infantry Rifle, made circa 1936 at the Nagoya Arsenal. The Nagoya Arsenal was a collection of five major military facilities located in and around Nagoya, Japan. It produced various Japanese army and air war equipment during World War II including the Arisaka Type 38 rifle and carbine. Specific arsenal facilities were built in Nagoya, Atsuta, Chikusa, Takagi, and Toriimatsu. The Type 38 rifle and carbine were bolt-action service rifles used by the Empire of Japan predominantly during the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Second World War. The design was adopted by the Imperial Japanese Army in 1905 (the 38th year of the Meiji period, hence "Type 38"). Because the 6.5×50mmSR Arisaka cartridge it fired was considered underpowered, a replacement was devised, which was the Type 99 rifle, but both rifles saw usage until the end of the war. This rifle was an upgrade to the Type 30. This design was the project of Major Nambu, famed and prolific firearms designer in Japan. The Type 38 has been called the best service rifle of WWII. The design was perfected with the advent of the Type 99, nevertheless, the Type 38 saw plenty of action during World War I and World War II. The overall condition is good. Strong action. Bright, nicely rifled bore. The stock is solid throughout and contains only an average amount of wear. Legible markings. This example has the mum lightly ground. Numbers on the bolt and receiver match. Good bayonet. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 31-1/2 inches. Caliber: 6.5mm Japanese Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
