Description: EMPIRE of JAPAN Arisaka TOYO KOGO Type 99 PACIFIC THEATER 7.7mm Rifle C&R
??
HIROSHIMA, JAPAN Manufactured w/ Marked MUM PRESENT, SLING and bayonet and scabbard.
Here we present a C&R Japanese Toyo Kogyo Type 99 Arisaka Military Rifle manufactured circa 1941 at the Toyo Kogyo Arsenal in Hiroshima, Japan. Complete.
This is a very early 31st Series Arisaka with a bayonet that is also early with the Toyko manufacture mark on base of blade.
As Japanese surrender became all the more imminent, many Army rifles bearing the Imperial Chrysanthemum marking of the Emperor had this emblem ground down in 1945 to spare the Emperor the embarrassment of surrender. Most have the mum totally removed.
Many surviving rifles are often found with this particular condition, especially late-war/late-model production versions. This example has a slightly defaced mum showing as two small horizontal lines across the middle of the mum.
Overall condition is very good. Robust action. Bright bore with nice metford style rifling. Solid stock with an average to below average amount of wear, minor dents, and dings. Includes receiver cover, anti-aircraft sights, monopod, cleaning rod and cleaning rod release, and early type front sight guards and bayonet with frog. Has a scratch at front of barrel between front sight and end of barrel. Legible markings. Matching bolt and receiver. Replica rubberized sling. Bayonet early Tokyo or Nagoya. Bayonet has stamp at base of blade and serial number is visible on back of pommel.
25.00 shipping to your FFL. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
