Arisaka Type 99 7.7 mm
Description:
This is a beautiful Japanese battle rifle with the dust cover, monopod, anti aircraft sights, et al. it was born with. It makes tight groups and has seen action in the Pacific. It is an early war version and functions smoothly. The stock has not been sanded but the stock finishing oil has, and it has been buffed and oiled and buffed and oiled so that it is quite nice. This is the strongest bolt action to come out of WWII and it will take any game in North America. Apparently it was carried by somone who really knew what he was dloing because the bolt is bent so that he can fire faster and the "ears" on the front sight are bent inward so there's no confusion as to which upright is the real stght. (you have to shoot Arisaka early war rifles to understand this). It has almost exactly the ballistics of the British .303 and is very close to the .308. I reload and tend to load a little heavy due to the strength of the action. This is NOT a recommendation. Good luck ! Denny
