WORLD WAR II German K98 Rifle BERLIN-LUEBECKER “duv” Code 41 Date Laminate SCARCE German MAUSER Rifle w/REDFIELD PEEP SIGHT
Description: WORLD WAR II German K98 Rifle BERLIN-LUEBECKER “duv” Code 41 Date Laminate SCARCE German MAUSER Rifle w/REDFIELD PEEP SIGHT Here we present a C&R Third Reich German Berlin-Luebecker Maschinenfabrik “duv” Code “41” Date K98 Mauser Rifle manufactured in 1941 in Berlin. Berlin-Luebecker Maschinenfabrik was a fairly early producer of the k98. It started making k98s in 1936 under the code “s/237”, moved to “237”, and late in 1940 changed to “duv”. BLM made k98s through late 1942 and was then fazed over into making the new semi-automatic K43 and G43. This is a very hard rifle to come by with the “duv” code, as it was transitioned/changed at the end of the 1940 production year. In 1898 the German Army purchased a Mauser design, the Model 98, which incorporated improvements introduced in earlier models. The weapon was originally chambered for the Patrone 88 and officially entered German service as the Gew. 98 on April 5, 1898. This remains by far the most successful of the Mauser designs, helped by the onset of two world wars that demanded vast numbers of rifles. This rifle has many German Third Reich proof marks including the “Eagle over 214” Waffenamt proof and the “Eagle over Swastika” proof. The overall condition is very good. This rifle has had the original sights removed and a set of target sights were installed, the rear a Redfield peep. The action is excellent. The bore is in fine shape, shiny bright with sharp rifling. The laminate stock is solid and shows some use. There is a faint WaffenAmt behind the trigger guard. The numbers match on the receiver, bolt handle, and magazine parts, while other parts are numbered differently. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: 8mm Mauser (7.92x57) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1650 #230462 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
