"Rare British Pattern 1862 Whitworth rifle .451 Hex Bore (AL9704)

Serial No. 182, circa 1862, .451 caliber, 36"" round proofed barrel with 96% original blue remaining. Top of the barrel is also marked with""Whitworth Patent"". Hex bore is in near excellent condition with strong rifling noted. Lock is still has beautiful case coloring and is marked ""1862/Enfield"" rear of the hammer is ""CROWN/V.R"" Stock shows minimal handling and usage wear with handsome cartouche noted on the right side. Action holds at half and full cock, comes with original nipple protector.
